Create & Own Your Day

I’m going to walk you through my 3 big takeaways from my time working with my business coach Craig Ballantyne.

Craig is a world-renowned business coach, owns multiple 7-figure businesses, is a New York Times best selling author, and is the most productive person I know. This guy is a machine.

I’ve worked with him for the past few months, and this past week I had the opportunity to go onto his podcast, the Early to Rise Radio Podcast and have an hour-long interview with Craig.

We had a great time, and I’ll send it your way when it drops.

It got me thinking about what I’ve learned over this past month and I started to jot down a quick list of my top 3 takeaways from working with such an accomplished dude.

Here they are…

1. Always be creating.

Craig is an absolute machine when it comes to content creation. Whether its new courses, products, books, or marketing material, this guy is always coming out with something new. Here’s my big takeaway. I’m not doing enough to create content or widgets in my business and chances are neither are you.

2.  Ask for referrals

Craig and his team are hitting me up once per month for a referral.I don’t get upset when he asks me for a referral, he’s helped my business and my personal life. And since he asks, I’m thinking about who I could connect him to or introduce him too.

Too many salespeople and business owners are too tentative when it comes to asking for a referral. Ask, and if they don’t respond, ask again. And if they give you a referral, ask again! It’s not rude if you’re delivering value to your customer! Craig even asks prospects who they know could benefit from his service! Don’t be afraid to ask for a referral.

3. Create your own Perfect Day

Craig wrote “The Perfect Day Formula” and I highly recommend you read it as well. I’ve taken his lessons to heart and when I’m able to execute on my “Perfect Day” it feels like my whole life is infinitely better. Coffee tastes better, the sun shines brighter, heck I think even my kids are a little sweeter than their usual selves.

What does your “Perfect Day” look like?

Get clear on how you can create a day that allows you to tackle your biggest goals first, and the not so important later if ever.  You either own the day or the day owns you. So make sure you have a plan for what your day looks like, and you’re actually in control of that day.
